How to enable Kickdown on your Tesla?
Kickdown is a classic feature designed to deliver maximum power when you fully press the accelerator. While many car brands already offer it, we’ve brought it to Tesla as part of our suite of smart automations. Now, you can instantly switch from Chill to Sport Mode just by flooring the pedal.

How It Works
Like all our automations, Kickdown is available in the Commander tab within the S3XY App.
To activate it, simply enable the feature and set the pedal threshold at which your car should switch from Chill to Standard/ Sport, Plaid (for Model S), or Insane (for Model 3 Highland Performance).
For example, if you set the threshold to 100%, the car will switch to Sport Mode whenever you fully press the accelerator. This applies in reverse as well - once you ease off the pedal past a predefined position, the car will return to Chill Mode. You can also configure a delay before the switch occurs.
Why Use Kickdown?
Although Chill Mode is very smooth and economical, Kickdown is perfect for situations where you need an immediate boost, like overtaking quickly or avoiding a potential hazard. You instantly tap into your car’s full power.
Best of all, this automation eliminates the need to take your eyes off the road and fumble through the touchscreen menu. Just press the pedal and go.
