After the release of update 5.12 in December 2025, many Tesla owners shared their feedback and reported a few issues related to their S3XY Strips and S3XY Stalks. Now, one month later, with update 6.2.1, we’ve addressed that feedback and implemented the necessary improvements - all of which you’ll learn about in this article.

But before we dive in, make sure the following prerequisites are in place:
- Tesla software v2025.44+
- S3XY App v.6.1.3+

S3XY Strip v6.2.1

Night Mode

One of the most common pieces of feedback regarding the S3XY Strip was that its brightness levels were too high at night, even when set to the lowest possible value. To resolve this, we introduced a dedicated Night Mode. This mode allows you to define a specific brightness offset and color index for night driving - either picked from your current six-tile color selection or you can set the same color to remain that you used during the day.

How does the S3XY Strip enter Night Mode?

The system works in sync with your Tesla screen. When your vehicle switches to Dark Mode at sunset, the S3XY Strip automatically dims its brightness. At sunrise, the process is reversed - once the Tesla display switches back to Light Mode, the Strip readjusts its brightness levels accordingly.

RHD Left & Right Swap

Some Tesla owners driving right-hand-drive (RHD) vehicles reported that while their light strip was functioning, the indications were reversed. For example, activating the right turn signal would trigger the left side of the Strip, and vice versa.

With update 6.2, RHD Model 3 and Model Y vehicles built between 2018 and 2020 can now swap the left and right indications.

However, owners should note that these vehicles do not have a front OBD port located at the right A-pillar. Instead, they can use the MCU port under the glovebox area to install the Strip Controller (which is different from the Commander).

Also, when putting the Strip itself, they should flip it at 180 degrees, to connect and route the cables properly.

Finally, once you are done with the installation, open the S3XY App and go to Strip’s tab. The press the gear icon in the top right corner to enter the Settings, select Strip Configuration, and enable the toggle.

There are other small improvements and minor bug fixes that you can learn more about in the Release Notes.

S3XY Stalks v6.2.1

Users reported that their Stalks would occasionally disconnect for no apparent reason. To resolve this, we not only enhanced Bluetooth connectivity, but also added an option that allows you to unpair your them from the Commander by pressing the lever down while holding the side button for at least 15 seconds.

Once the unpairing process is complete, simply reconnect the Stalks to the Commander.

If you want to see what other improvements were made and what bug fixes have been resolved, refer to the Release Notes.
