Update 6.4 Full Walkthrough | Unlock Tesla Track Mode Controls

Our first major update for 2026 is dubbed 6.4 and it introduces new automations, actions, and customization settings to our S3XY Products which we believe every Tesla owner will love.
Of course, when there is a new release, people usually have questions like how certain features work, how to set them up, what are the use cases, and so on.
And to make things easier for everybody, we explain everything in this article and created a full walkthrough:
Actions on Reverse
Models: Model 3 / Y
This first automations groups together several actions which can automatically activate when you switch your Tesla into Reverse. Currently, these actions include:
- Turning on your Rear Fog Lights for improved visibility when parking at night or in low-visibility conditions.
Note: US-built Highland and Juniper vehicles are not equipped with rear fog lights, so this action will not be available. If you own a Model 3 Highland Premium, you likely have rear fog lights installed but can’t access through the Tesla screen - however, you can activate them using our S3XY products.
- Engaging Dynamic Brake Lights which flashes the taillights in a blinking pattern. This can serve as a signal to passersby or other drivers, as well as give extra illumination.
- Disabling the Automatic Dimming your Side Mirrors
- Mute All Sounds: Silences all audio inside and outside the car - including phone calls, parking sensors, notifications, chimes, and the UFO-like reverse sound. Available on Model S/X and Highland/Juniper models, as legacy vehicles do not emit a sound when shifting into Reverse.
To access these features, open the S3XY App, head over to the Commander, and select Actions On Reverse. Then simply enable the toggle/s of the action/s you want to use.

Ambient Light Effects
Models: Highland & Juniper
We’ve added a new animation to the built-in ambient lighting of the Highland and Juniper models that flashes the door segments to indicate when a door is open. This is especially useful at night when passengers are entering or exiting the car, as it alerts both you and nearby drivers that a door remains open.
To enable this feature, go to the Commander section in the S3XY App and open the Ambient Light Effects page. Then scroll to the bottom, where you’ll find the new animation.
Actions Upon Approach Improvement
Models: Legacy Model 3 / Y
For those of you who are unaware, this feature allows you to automatically open your trunk/ frunk/ driver’s door when you approach your Tesla within a certain timeframe that you have preset. It’s triggered by pressing the driver’s door button and your car needs to stay awake for the actions to be executed upon your return.
Initially, this feature worked by enabling Tesla’s Keep Climate On mode. However, many users raised concerns about energy consumption, especially when using it alongside Sentry Mode.
With update 6.4, we’ve introduced Sentry Mode as an additional option to keep the car awake so that the feature remains active.

S3XY Strip Controls - Edges
Models: Model 3 / Y
Update 6.4 introduces a highly requested feature that makes the RGB light strip flash only at the edges during blind spot alerts, turn signals, and hazard light indications. You can also adjust the number of diodes to control the width of the flash, depending on your seat and steering wheel positions.
You can find these settings by opening the Strip tab in the S3XY App and scroll down to General Settings.
S3XY Strip Controls - Night Mode
Models: Model 3 / Y
Another highly requested feature is reduced brightness at night to prevent glare and reflections on the windshield. You can enable Night Mode from the bottom of the General Settings in the Strip section of the S3XY App.
This setting is linked to your Tesla’s system clock. When the screen switches to Dark Mode at dusk, the Strip dims automatically. At sunrise, when the display returns to Light Mode, the Strip increases its brightness accordingly.
Again, if you want to learn why we did it that way and how we managed to do it, make sure to check the walkthrough.
Track Mode Settings
Models: Model 3 / Y Performance (including the new Juniper Performance)
One of the first features we introduced was enabling Track Mode in every Performance model, including the 2026 Model Y Performance - something Tesla has not yet officially included. You can enable it through our S3XY Buttons and Knob.
Keep in mind that these settings will not appear on the main Tesla screen. However, since you can use the S3XY App as a dashboard, all changes are reflected there, allowing you to fine-tune parameters such as handling and stability. You will also hear the car starting to preheat the battery, motor ramping up, etc.
Additionally, you can also adjust the adaptive damping by choosing between Comfort, Sport, and Track Mode, depending on whether you are looking for a smoother ride or a better performance on the track circuits.
We also added new stats to the S3XY App. Now, you can monitor your brake temperature on each wheel, along with your peak power, battery temperature, total discharge and so on.
If you want to learn how we managed to do it, check the full walkthrough.
Pedestrian Chime
Models: S3XY
A very simple action that can be triggered through the S3XY Buttons or Knob which makes your car produce a chime, similar to the one that signals the opening and closing of the trunk. This feature is useful for subtly alerting pedestrians and cyclists without startling them with the horn.
S3XY Knob - Autopilot Page
Models: Model 3 / Y
One distinct feature of our smart rotary controller is the ability to automatically switch to different pages, based on your drive state. This means that when you can customize it so when you switch into Drive, the Knob’s display will switch to a page where you grouped up all the actions you use for driving. The same thing applies when going into Reverse or Park.
With update 6.4 we added the same functionality to the Autopilot, so whenever you engage the Autosteer, the Knob can automatically switch to a page where you have features for your autonomous drives.
S3XY Dash - Light Theme
When you open the Dash Settings - where brightness and theme options are located - you’ll find the option to switch between Light and Dark modes at the bottom of the page. There’s also an Auto mode that syncs with your Tesla screen, matching its brightness and theme. So when your Tesla switches to Dark Mode, the Dash does the same - and vice versa.
With the Light Theme enabled, glare and reflections during daytime driving are significantly reduced, meaning you can clearly see and monitor your car data and take full advantage of the included Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
Conclusion
As you can see, there is a lot to unpack in update 6.4, so make sure to install it on all of your S3XY Products and start having fun with all the new features and improvements.
