As part of our Summer Event, we're releasing another major software update - version 6.8 - bringing a host of new features to our smart instrument cluster for the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, the S3XY Dash.

In addition to the Dash improvements, Update 6.8 also includes new enhancements and bug fixes across the entire S3XY ecosystem.

In this article, we'll walk you through everything that's new. If you'd rather see the update in action, be sure to watch the video below.

Knob Mirroring

The first feature has been a popular request for quite some time. After we launched the S3XY Dash in November 2025, a lot of people started to upgrade their setup by adding the S3XY Knob.

That, along with the community feedback, inspired us to create a seamless integration between the two products to make the driving experience more immersive.

With update 6.8, whenever you rotate the dial of the Knob, press a button, or execute actions, all the changes will be reflected on the Dash’s display.

And since our rotary controller gives you access to over 100 different actions, each configurable across 5 pages, with numerous customizable submenu options - the possibilities become truly limitless.

An example setup could include a three page layout.

A driver’s page, showcasing things like regenerative braking controls, climate settings, and battery preheating on the side buttons along with wiper controls on the dial.

A page for when you shift into Reverse, where you have the hazard lights, folding and tilting the mirror, rear fog lights on the side buttons, and gear shifting on the dial.

And finally, you can have a dedicated page for your passenger. You can have the top side buttons adjusting their seat while the bottom row and the dial would allow them to control the media like switching between songs and adjusting the speakers’ volume.

Apple CarPlay / Android Auto Controls

Another major improvement we have implemented is the possibility to control your CarPlay or Android Auto, using the right scroll wheel of your steering wheel.

A hard flick allows you to switch between the various pages you have set up for your car stats and trip data.

With a softer scroll, you can navigate the pages themselves, executing actions and controlling the apps in your CarPlay. All you have to do is go to the app you want to use, for example Waze, by softly flicking the wheel then simply push it to the right to open the application. When you are done, push the button to the left to exit.

However, once you activate Tesla’s Autopilot these functions will be disabled, so that they don’t interfere with adjusting the speed and the following distance.

New Gauges

Update 6.8 introduces two new gauges to the S3XY Dash.

The first one, by popular demand, follows a minimalistic design with a larger font size of the speedometer to make it easier for folks to see their current speed.

The second one is a power gauge which shows in real-time the flux of energy into and out of your battery.

Other

Along with the new functions of the S3XY Dash, we also made improvements to some of the automations, unlocked by our OBD module - the Commander.

For folks who were having issues activating our manual Battery Preconditioning feature, the latest software version has a fix.

A while back, we introduced an automation to prevent the notorious dry wipe that Tesla vehicles are known for, where the wipers automatically switch to Auto and perform a wipe even when there's no rain.

However, on some newer Tesla models, the wiper setting would still revert to Auto, even with our automation enabled. With Update 6.8, we've addressed this behavior to ensure the automation works more consistently across supported vehicles.

Last but not least we finally managed to implement our Auto Window Drop feature to Highland and Juniper models.

We have created this feature to help you enter your vehicle easier when you are parked in a narrow garage or you are sandwiched between two vehicles in a crowded lot.

But previously it worked only on legacy Model 3 / Y. With update 6.8, we found a workaround and finally brought it to the newer models.

Conclusion

That’s update 6.8 covered. However, we always strive to improve our products and software, and our community is the biggest inspiration for that.
