Update 5.9.1
Strap in because in this article, we have a lot to unpack. First, we are going to walk you through all of the automations and features we have included in our update 5.9.1, available for all Tesla Models. You can also check them out and customize them from the S3XY App. Most of the new additions were suggested by our amazing community, so we are pretty sure you are going to find them handy.
We are also going to announce our newest product, as well as tell you about this year’s GoGreen initiative, which we started last year.

Headlight When Raining
All Tesla Models use their cameras instead of traditional rain sensors, which can cause some problems whenever the weather outside is sunny or partially cloudy. In some countries, one such issue is that the headlights will remain off, even if there is precipitation, which could lead to fines if the law requires you to have the low beams enabled in these situations.
Our feature solves this problem for you by automatically turning on the low beams, meaning that you no longer need to be anxious about getting fined, and you can focus on the road ahead. Just like all of our automations, you can find it by navigating to the Commander tab inside the S3XY App.
Auto Window Drop
If you park your Tesla in tight spots and you have to perform weird acrobatics to get in and out of your car, then this automation is right up your alley. Once enabled, whenever a door opens, it will automatically lower the corresponding window, giving you more room to enter and/or exit. And when you close the door, the window will automatically slide back up.
Volume Down on Exit
Are you tired of getting jump scared by loud music when you return to your Tesla? Well, this next automation will solve that problem by allowing you to preset the volume level of your vehicle on exit. And when you return, you will no longer be startled by blasting speakers.
New Actions
In addition to the new automations, we also included new actions that could be configured to our S3XY Buttons, S3XY Knob, and S3XY Stalks.
- Dynamic Brakelights: This action flashes your taillights without actually braking, allowing you to communicate with the drivers coming from behind. It works similarly to the Strobe Lights feature that we introduced last year, which flashes your high beams in the same way.
- Hand Wash: When washing your car, this feature locks your charge port and rolls up the windows without locking your Tesla, and keeps the side mirrors unfolded. More than 100 users have requested this feature since the beginning of the year, so we are sure that you are going to find it handy.
- Follow Distance: Usually, when you want to adjust the follow distance on TACC and Autopilot drives, you have to reach forward and press the right scroll wheel left or right. But thanks to update 5.9, simply select the distance value inside the S3XY App and assign it to one of your S3XY products.
S3XY Strip
As of today, we are announcing the launch of the S3XY Strip - the newest addition to our lineup of smart Tesla accessories, working on all Model 3s and Ys from 2021 onward. From the get-go, it comes with tons of intelligent functions, such as warning you when there is a car in your blind spot, alerting you when the Autopilot requires you to keep your hands on the wheel, or when you are driving above the speed limit. You are also greeted with a cool animation when you enter your car and another animation when you're charging.
It comes with its own controller, so you don’t need the Commander, but if you have been an avid user of our products, then you can certainly daisy-chain them together and take advantage of the benefits from our entire ecosystem of gadgets. The strip also receives regular over-the-air updates, making it smarter with every single release.
